What low fat alternative is available for brushing on philo dough?
I bought philo dough because it’s fat free. The directions say to brush each layer with butter. It tastes great that way but there goes the fat-free concept. I tried using it with nothing brushed on it but it tasted like paper. Then I tried brushing water on it but the layers clump together and taste like wet cardboard. Is there a good low-fat alternative that tastes pretty good?

Safflower oil has the least amount of fat per tablespoon than the other oils.
