How do they make sugar free fizzy drink/ soda sweet?

Mum buys sugar free fizzy drink, and on the back the nutrition info says it has 0 grams of sugar. The ingredients just says it has ’sweeteners’.
Whats this mean and is it healthier?

    Splenda or aspartame. They are both artificial sweeteners, so I am not sure about how healthy they are, but they are zero calorie.
